Finned Tubes and Custom Heat Transfer Coils

DEA Enerji provides project-specific finned tubes and coil solutions for industrial heating and cooling applications. The right configuration depends on the operating duty, fluid compatibility, available space and maintenance requirements. Share your project data to discuss a technical quotation with a clearly defined scope.

Finned tube or complete coil: define what your project needs

A finned tube has an extended external surface to support heat transfer on the air or gas side. A coil assembly combines tubes with the arrangement, returns, headers and supporting structure required by the application. Distinguishing between individual tube supply and a complete assembly helps make quotations comparable.

More surface area alone does not guarantee a better result. Fin effectiveness, tube-to-fin contact, air-side pressure drop, fouling and cleaning access all affect the suitability of a design. The required duty should be evaluated at the actual operating conditions.

Finned tube and coil configurations

DEA Enerji's product range includes several fin constructions. Each detailed product page explains its configuration and application context; the final choice depends on the project requirements.

  • Spiral-wound finned tubes: a continuous metal strip is wound around the tube to create the external fin surface.
  • L, LL, KL and G fin types: different fin-foot and attachment arrangements provide distinct tube-to-fin interfaces.
  • Integral fin tubes: fins are formed from the tube's external material, creating a one-piece tube-and-fin structure.
  • Bimetal extruded finned tubes: fins are formed from an outer aluminium sleeve around the inner tube.
  • Plate-fin and double-tube plate-fin coils: separate fins are assembled around the tube arrangement; fin spacing and tube rows are important selection inputs.

Start with the operating duty

Specify the fluids on both sides, their flow rates and inlet and outlet temperatures. State the operating pressure and design requirements separately. Available fan or pump pressure, installation dimensions and access for cleaning can be as important as the required heat duty.

For replacement equipment, explain why the existing coil is being replaced. Fouling, corrosion, leakage or inadequate capacity may indicate that reproducing the external dimensions alone will not address the original problem.

  • Heating or cooling duty and any operating variation.
  • Fluid composition, phase and relevant corrosion conditions.
  • Permitted pressure drop on the tube and air or gas sides.
  • Connection sizes, orientation, installation envelope and service access.

Industrial applications

Finned tubes and coils are used in air heating and cooling, drying processes, economizers and heat recovery equipment. DEA Enerji lists applications across HVAC, textile, food, chemical, energy and marine environments. The operating conditions determine which construction is suitable; a product family name alone is not a design specification.

  • Specify tube and fin materials, tube dimensions, fin height, thickness and spacing when known.
  • Describe dust, moisture, corrosive exposure and the available cleaning method.
  • Provide the permitted installation envelope, vibration conditions and access for maintenance.

From project information to a defined manufacturing scope

A clear enquiry establishes the application first, then the proposed tube and fin configuration. Drawings should identify dimensions, connection positions and revision status. If a drawing is unavailable, operating data and photographs of the existing installation can support the initial discussion.

Requested material documentation, inspections, tests, dimensional tolerances and surface treatments should be stated at the quotation stage. Their applicability and scope are assessed against the product duty and agreed specification. Installation interfaces, packing requirements and requested delivery documentation should also be included in the commercial scope.

What determines the price of a finned tube or coil?

Pricing depends on tube and fin materials, tube diameter and wall thickness, fin geometry, tube length or assembly dimensions, connections, support structure and quantity. Surface treatments and project-specific inspection or documentation requirements can also affect the quotation.

Compare offers using the same operating duty and supply scope. A lower equipment price is not enough to establish suitability if material grades, allowable pressure drop or assembly requirements differ. Share your specification and drawings so those differences can be addressed before ordering.

Request a technical quotation

Send your application, available operating data, installation dimensions and required quantity to DEA Enerji. Include a drawing or photographs when available. If some technical values are unknown, describe the application and provide your contact details so the missing information can be identified during the enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Are finned tubes and heat transfer coils the same thing?

A finned tube is an individual extended-surface tube. A heat transfer coil is an assembly configured for an application and may include headers, return bends and supports. Specify whether your enquiry concerns tubes or a complete coil.

Which fin type should I choose?

The choice depends on operating temperatures, fluid and environmental compatibility, heat duty, pressure drop and maintenance conditions. Provide these inputs before selecting a fin type solely by appearance or surface area.

Can I request a quotation without a drawing?

Yes. Describe the application and share the available operating data, dimensions and photographs. A drawing, if available, improves scope definition. Any additional information needed can be identified during technical evaluation.
